JAC EYES ENTRY WITH ITs CVs IN INDIA

The battle in the Indian automobile industry is set to intensify with Chinese auto maker Jianghuai Automobile Company (JAC) planning to launch commercial vehicles as well as passenger cars.

“India would be one of the key markets for JAC. To begin with, we are looking at introducing commercial vehicles, but eventually we’ll launch passenger cars as well,” said a spokesperson. He did not specify a timeline for an entry but indicated it was open to collaborations to sell products

JAC has a comprehensive line-up of vehicles in China, which includes light, medium and heavy duty trucks, buses, multi-purpose vehicles and sedans. JAC also manufactures gearboxes, engines, auto components and engineering products. The company recently launched an electric vehicle, Tong Yue, in the Chinese market

Paccar making inroads in Indian truck segment?

After Navistar , there's another American truck maker drawing plans for an India entry. The Washington headquartered Paccar is apparently scouting for opportunities including inorganic ones to be in India. If Paccar enters India, it will be a major challenge for existing players like Ashok Leyland , Tata Motors and even Mahindra International , which is going to launch their medium and heavy commercial vehicles towards the end of next year and early 2009.

If Paccar enters the Indian market, it will have good and strong products which will challenge existing players.

History: PACCAR Inc: PCAR is the 3^rd Largest manufactured of Heavy duty Trucks in the world after (Dailmer AG and VOLVO) and has substantial manufactured in  Light and Medium vehicles.

Mahindra Navistar Automobiles limited has launched a tipper and tractor trailer- MN25, MN40 to the Indian agro commercial vehicle segment. The 25 Tonner tippers and the 40 tonner tractor trailer are introduced foreseeing the huge demand for commercial vehicles in a growing Indian Economy

ASHOK LEYLAND –NISSAN JV BRINGS NEW LCV

Ashok Leyland and Nissan JV introduce a new LCV – Dost – to the Indian Market. The Vehicle is BSIII and BSIV emission complaint, the company said. Dost will be manufactured at AL Plant in Hosur and has a payload capacity of 1.2 Tonne.

The Vehicle is expected to hit the roads in the second quarter of this financial year.

FOTON TO SET UP PLANT IN INDIA

Commercial Vehicle giant BEQI is all set to launch products in LCV,MPV segments as per the needs of a growing Indian Commercial Vehicle Market. The Company Head Quarter in Beijing(CHINA) has linked a MoU with Maharasta Government for the same. Tha pact will cost the company an Investment of about 1676 Crore for setting up a manufacturing plant. The Company said it would launch vehicles from the Indian facility by 2013.
The new facility will be operational in Pune,Maharastra. Photons fleet of brands includes 10 products namely AUMAN, Auv, MP-X, MIDI, SAGA, VIEW, SUP, OLLIN and FORLAND

Swaraj Mazda name changed to SML ISUZU LIMITED

Swaraj Mazda Limited has informed the Exchange that company obtained approval from shareholders through Postal Ballot to the change of Company name from Swaraj Mazda Limited to SML ISUZU LIMITED. Further the Registrar of Companies , Punjab, H.P & Chandigarh, has approved the Change of Company name from Swaraj Mazda Limited to SML ISUZU LIMITED by issuing fresh Certificate of Incorporation.

Swedish trcuk giants SCANIA is all set to launch its trucks in the rapidly growing Indian Commercial vehicle market. The model consideration is 8x4 tipper variant which i recently spotted at the rural mine areas KARNATAKA undergoing the final test to suite it for Indian condition; hopefully Scania will launch this truck by the end of this year. Even though Scania's Indian entry was a bit delayed but their global presents feather on its crown in the latest long haulage R-Series model R730V8.

Commercial Vehicle - ANALYSIS, April,2011

The overall Commercial Vehicle Segment registered a growth of 8.22 percent in April,2011 as compared the same month last year to touch 53,202 units. Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle Sales were relatively flat at 22,391 units compared to 22,236 units. The Light Commercial Vehicles segment grew at 14.43 percent to 30,811 units in April this year, compared to 26,926 units in the same month last year

Passenger Carriers were down by 2.11% in April,2011, the Goods Carrieres registered growth of 16.62%.

Eicher registered the highest growth in the LCV segment to 824 Units. AMW notched up a growth of 73.85% to touch 718 Units in April this year as compared 413 Units in the same month Last year.
